The Creative Services Group will deliver to our local Clear Channel stations quarterly spec campaigns, on-site training, a script library written by our award winning copywriters and a “spot share” featuring great :30 and :15 second commercials written and produced by Clear Channel stations all over the country. All of these creative tools are available through our secure website creative.clearchannel.com. (internal use only)
  • By way of definition we are a radio advertising workshop...a place where radio advertising theories, techniques and methods are tested, analyzed and demonstrated. Our goal is to provide creative advertising support, training and resources to all Clear Channel radio stations and their clients.

  • In addition to the world class creative talent we’ve put together as the Creative Services Group team, we’re fortunate to have on-going working relationships with advertising and marketing gurus Jack Trout, Dick Orkin and Roy Williams.
  • Resources available to all Clear Channel Sales and Production Departments
  • Custom Campaigns – Conceived by CSG’s award winning creative director Rob Summers, these will be custom built and available to all Clear Channel clients on financially prioritized basis.
  • Training –CSG is delivering both on-line and in person creative training developed exclusively for Clear Channel sales and production departments. The CSG seminar “Selling with Sound” will be coming to Atlanta in February , New York in April and Chicago this June. In addition we are creating a six part DVD training series focused on the development of great radio creative.
  • Spot Share – Available now at creative.clearchannel.com is a growing library of proven :30’s and :15’s in the top-50 key business categories. This library will be updated daily as Clear Channel AE’s, producers and writers from around the country contribute to this growing resource.
  • Script Writing – To inspire our local creative departments Clear Channel AE’s and producers will have access to an on-line library of battle tested copy written by our award winning copy writers.
  • Spec Campaigns – Each quarter the CSG will deliver turn-key category specific advertising campaigns and consumer research. Already available on the CSG website are sample campaigns for Auto Dealers, Jewelry Stores, Tire Dealers, Discount Deals, Financial Services, Home Improvement, Bridal and Back to School.
  • New Advertising Techniques – We’ve developed unique methods to advertise including full integration into our programming, AdLets (5 second ads), Blinks (1 second ads)book-ends and more.
  • Weekly Creative Conference Calls – Each week the CSG creative team will be available to discuss strategy and development of specific :30 and :15 second spot advertising with all Clear Channel sales and production departments.

Meet the Creative Services Group Team

Jim has over 30 years of radio experience and most recently served as Vice President of Creative Services at Clear Channel Radio. Cook lent his talents to Clear Channel Radio beginning in 1995 and has acted as a leader and a resource in radio production and programming, marrying technology and talent throughout the creative process. Jim will be leading this new division offering solutions, providing direction, training and support for our local radio stations.

Throughout his nearly 30 year broadcasting career, Bob has been a successful station owner, general manager, program director and drive time air talent. For the past four years, he has served as a Regional Vice President of programming for Clear Channel Radio stations. As Managing Director, he will be responsible for all facets of CSG’s daily operations.

Robert Summers joins the group with an impressive track record of developing radio advertising for blue-chip consumer clients like Coca Cola, most recently as Creative Director for McCann Erickson World Group. In this new role, he will be responsible for developing category-specific spot campaigns and creating Web-based tools for Clear Channel Radio stations, and for providing both live and Web-based training. In addition to McCann Erickson, he previously held creative positions with two consulting firms he founded: Arogeti & Summers and The Robert Summers Project, Inc.

As a national and international writer, Terry has honed his skills at some of the most notable ad agencies in the country, creating TV and radio for a wide range of prestigious accounts like Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, McDonalds and Ralston Purina. In his new role with CSG, Terry will be a creative force across the board in developing and helping sell through commercial creative from category specific spot campaigns to custom advertising.
